iPhone & iPad layout doesn’t look right

Hi – I am using the vantage theme premium

http://www.dreamingofca.com/Macnician

I’m having two issues:

1) The site looks fine on desktop browser
2) The site looks funny and shows some different navigation on an iPhone – mostly in portrait mode.

I’m not sure what to do to fix this issue.

I am working with a Vantage child theme.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Shelley

Do you by any chance have any mobile mode plugins installed? Jetpack, for example, has a mobile mode plugin that’ll significantly change how your site looks on mobile devices.

I couldn’t double check this because it seems like your site is in maintenance mode so I can’t access it. Hopefully my hunch was right though :)

Hi Greg thank you for your reply – I’m very new to this. I took your advice an added the Jetpack plugin to my site an activated the Mobile Theme. I does a nice job. One big thing missing is it is not plugging the Logo in on the mobile view. It’s completely blank. I am using the Meta Slider and a Logo above in your (theme settings). I renamed the site which is why you couldn’t get in. Can you take a quick peak on your desktop and then on your mobile device to shoot me in the right direction.

    Much appreciated.

    Shelley:)

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Shelley

    Thanks for reaching out.

I don’t seem to be able to access your site right, I’ll try work through this without. I think your site might require a login.

To clarify, when Greg mentioned Jetpack Mobile Theme, he was saying that sometimes users have that turned on and don’t realise it. Then when they check their site on mobile they aren’t sure where the different layout is coming from.

(Jetpack is a super useful plugin though so keep it installed. Check out Tiled Galleries and Carousel.)

When you previously viewed your site on mobile, with Jetpack Mobile Theme turned off, did the menu change to a button that just said Menu, when you clicked on it did the screen turn black with a list of your menu items? If so, that’s our mobile menu you’re seeing. It can be de-activated from Appearance > Theme Settings > Navigation > Responsive Menu.
