Interactive Google Maps not showing

Dear reader,

I am using the Rocked theme from Athemes and I’m trying to show an interactive Google Maps image with the ‘Site Origin Google Maps’ widget. I have done this before at other websites and everything seemed to work fine.

On my current website (currently offline) the widget doesn’t work interactive. Only as a static image.

Can you tell me what seems to be the problem and can you help me? On the images below you can see my problem. Left the Google Maps widget doesn’t work and on the right i have used the ‘Rocked: Contact info’ widget. On other websites it does work but not on my new one as said earlier. The bottom image shows everything working fine on another one of my websites..

I hope that you can help me and I’m looking forward to your reply.

    Hi Jeroen,

    This is likely due to a Google update that requires API keys to be used from now on. For more information please refer to this post.

    Basically, to resolve this issue you’re going to have to add a Google Maps API key to your SiteOrigin Google Maps widget. In the next version, which should hopefully be released very soon, we’re looking to enforce the API key requirement. :( To create an API key please navigate to this page and click the blue “Get a Key” button and follow the prompts.

    I have an API key, entered it in the appropriate field and my map still does not appear on the page.

      We’d like to help you, but can you please start a new thread with your question? We can only offer you the best support possible when you’re the owner of a thread. Also, please include a link to the page with Google Maps present as that will speed up the diagnoses.
