Interactive Google Map not showing on Contact 7 Page

Hi,

My interactive google map is no longer displaying on my website. It disappeared sometime over the past two weeks.

I have Geocoding enabled as well as seven other Google map related APIs.

I created a new API today thinking that perhaps it needed an update. All other SiteOrigin widgets seem to be working well. I have not yet updated to WordPress version 5.0. I am running version 4.9.8.

I am very much a novice and not skilled at html or coding… I relay on plugins to make my web pages functional.

My web site is: www.pineyhillartists.com

I would sure appreciate some help as my Contact 7 page interactive Google map is not showing at all… no error message, just blank space where the map should be displayed.

Could someone please help?

Thanks,
Mike

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Michael,

I’ve had a look at your contact page and I’m seeing the following error message:

Geocoding Service: This IP, site or mobile application is not authorized to use this API key. Request received from IP address 180.181.153.40, with referer: https://www.pineyhillartists.com/contact/ For more information on authentication and Google Maps JavaScript API services please see: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/get-api-key

This suggests, that either something else on your page is loading Google Maps unauthenticated or your Google Maps API isn’t set up to be used on pineyhillartists.com.

For the former, can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

    Alex S…

[snip] Geocoding Service: This IP, site or mobile application is not authorized to use this API key. Request received from IP address 180.181.153.40, with referer: https://www.pineyhillartists.com/contact/ For more information on authentication and Google Maps JavaScript API services please see: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/get-api-key%5B/adminize%5D

This suggests, that either something else on your page is loading Google Maps unauthenticated or your Google Maps API isn’t set up to be used on pineyhillartists.com. [end snip]

Thank you so very much for pointing me in the right direction. That was the problem and as soon as I adjusted my API settings and restrictions… the map once again is functioning perfectly. I had to authorize https://*.pineyhillartists.com/* and add Geocoding to the restrictions for the API key being used.

Thanks again for your very ‘spot on’ help.

    Regards,
    Mike
