I am currently developing a new theme for myself, and I would like to make it as portable as possible. The first step is how to integrate the SiteOrigin Panel Plugin into my theme folder so that it works probably. I have searched the forum and the Page Builder Developer Docs, but with no luck. Is there anyone who can give me a simple explanation how to do the integration?
Thanks in advance!
Hi Jens,
While you can’t exactly integrate directly with the plugin (due to WordPress.org and many Marketplace rules – CodeCanyon being a prime example) you can recommend our theme via the excellent TGM Plugin Activation plugin.
With that said, you can extend and added theme exclusive functionality quite easily. With just the default SiteOrigin Page Builder plugin you can add custom layouts and adjust functionality via hooks and filters. The developer docs can be found here.
If you would like to include theme exclusive widgets you can do so via the SiteOrigin Widget Bundle plugin. Think of it as an extremely advanced version of Bootstrap for SiteOrigin. It has excellent developer docs which can be found here.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
