Hi there
I have built my pages with SiteOrigin in the Travelify WP theme and it has worked very well, but now suddenly the sizes of the images are not how I set them originally, some are enormous, other very small and also when I try to resize them the pages doesn’t respond but keep looking the same. Something is wrong that wasn’t wrong before, can you tell me what it is and what I can do about it?
My site is: http://differentpartsofeverywhere.com
Thanks, Dea
Hi Dea,
I just had a quick look at your website. Did you manage to resolve this issue? I ask as I can’t seem to find any enormous images or very small images. Maybe I’m overlooking something due to being unfamiliar with your website. If this is the case, can you please point me in the direction of a very large image (that shouldn’t be that large) and a very small image (that shouldn’t be that small)? Sorry about this!
Hi Alex, sorry I wasn’t more specific – obviously you can’t know what size the images were supposed to be in the first place.
But if you look at the page ‘Chris and Dea’ you will see a huge picture of Chris which is not supposed to be that big (although he is cute to look at :-)) and further down the yellow/green fact box is also too book whereas some other of the pictures are too small. They don’t show the same size as I make them in Page Builder.
On the pages ‘The Bikes’ and ‘Travel Style’ there are also rows of three pictures that are supposed to be small so they fit horisontal next to each other, but they have become very big and now show vertical down the side instead.
Do you see what I mean? And do you know what to do about it?
I really hope you can help me as I have used Page Builder to make all the pages with the features at the bottom and so it will be a lot of work if I have to find another plugin and do it all again. I tried to deactivate Page Builder and it makes the pictures show the right size again, so I figure it has to do with the plugin and the wordpress update, as it began after the update.
Thank you for the quick response!
Dea
Hi Dea,
Hm. Did you recently install Jetpack? I ask as Jetpack seems to be causing the issue here. Try disabling Jetpack Photon to see if that helps.
I have deactivated Jetpack and now the pages look normal again, thanks!
Jetpack was one of two or three plugins that came automatically when I installed WordPress and hasn’t clashed with SiteOrigin before, but I guess it has to do with the recent WordPress update… Do you know if it is something you at SiteOrigin (or WordPress) will look into solving, so I again will be able to use both plugins together? I like some of the features from Jetpack, so it would be really nice if I could activate it again at some point.
All the best, Dea
Hi Dea,
I’m going to log this as a potential bug and we’ll be looking into it.
To clarify, you don’t need to disable Jetpack to disable Jetpack Photon. Please re-enable the plugin, then navigate to WP AdminJetpackSettings and then open the Appearance Tab. Toggle Photon off.
Awsome Alex, thank you so so much for helping and teaching me!
I hope you’ll have a great day, Dea
Hi Dea,
No problem. :)
You too mate!
