images and video embeds not working!!

Hi SiteOrigin,

I see there are a number of threads dealing with this but I do not see how to fix this. I am unable to either ADD an image or EMBED a video file onto a post… it seems like there some weird blockage happening. Unfortunately I do not have access to the wordpress files because I am working on a big wordpress system via UC Santa Cruz — and so, I can only customize CSS and make adjustments to whatever plugins they give us (i.e. Jetpack) — I cannot add new plugins on my own.

There is something weird going on — whenever I try and add an image w/ the Media Uploader onto a post, the big box with an X shows up… and if I try and add an embed video code using the Text editor — the code disappears!

Please help! This is incredibly frustrating! I turned off the PageBuilding home page AND I deactivated Photon (Jetpack plugin) and cannot see what else might be causing this problem.

It does let me insert a gallery of images and it lets me insert a “featured image” but — not any stand alone images…. or embedded videos!
