image in blog loop don’t show up in custom template

I have built a site in fotosuite.com that has a custom home page with a side bar and a blog loop. I am trying to build the exact same page in http://bestofbridge.staging.wpengine.com. In http://bestofbridge.staging.wpengine.com, if I make a custom page then the sidebar doesn’t show up and when I turn on default template to view sidebar the images in the blog loop don’t show up. I need both and don’t know why it works in fotosuite.com and not http://bestofbridge.staging.wpengine.com. The feature images are loaded so that is not the problem. Please let me know a solution.
