Image display/scrolling issue in Chrome

8 years ago · Last reply by Sascha_MUC 8 years ago

Hello,

may I ask you for your advice regarding the following question:

I’m using multiple high-resolution images (compressed and optimized) on a page with multiple page builder widgets, as you can see on this page: https://dev.crg.world/de/yachtcharter/sea-force-one

When opening the page in Chrome and srolling down, it looks like Chrome loads/displays the images only after scrolling down, which makes a terrible user experience, since you have to wait for the images to appear. In Safari it works fine.

Do you have any recommendation for that? Can I provide a smooth scrolling of this page in Chrome (like in Safari)?

Thanks and best regards

Sascha

    Hi Sascha,

Unfortunately, I can’t replicate this issue on your website – I’m not able to replicate this with a fast or slow (simulated) connection. I suspect that Chrome is blocking the standard smooth scroll used on your website (reference) in favor of its own due to the broken nature of the library being used (this is not to suggest your theme doesn’t include the good version of this script, only that Google is blocking it regardless).

To clarify, what version of Chrome are you using?

many thanks for this information and your considerations.

    I’m using Chrome 62 on Mac OS X 10.
