Image caption, description and alternative text are not displayed

Hi there,

I´ve added an image description, alternative text and caption on an image which is also the feautered image. The problem is, only the picture itself is displayed but not the text or description.

What can I do to fix this?

    Hi Seba

    I don’t believe the caption will display with featured images. The alt tag should though. Was the alt tag inserted before the image was added as a featured image? Image info like the alt tag don’t automatically update. So if you change the alt tag in the media library, it doesn’t dynamically update throughout the site, you’d need to re-insert that featured image.

    thanks for the very quick response!
    I´ve already re-insert the feature image after the change.

    I will try to start from the beginning, upload the image, write the description and chose it than as an feature image.

    For sure. Ok, try that too, just to see, but re-inserting it should ideally be enough. Please send through the post or page link if you still don’t get a result.

    So I tried it as you said and also “from scratch”, Nothing worked,

    The alt tag seems to work on my demo site locally. Are you running a page speed plugin on the server or as a plugin? Can you try testing without that activated?

    I´m using W3 Total Cache and Leverage Browser Caching Ninja. But they are deactivated. No pagespeed plugin.

    If you go to that Nokia post now, click on the Featured Image, add text into the Alt field of that image, and then Save does it not then reflect?

    Nope, I changed it and it says that it´s saved the changes. Then I updated the Post, took a look and nothing has changed.

    I also tried different browsers… Same effect…
    Any ideas?

    If I insert the picture as media into the post, it will show the description, but not in the featured image.
    But then I get the picture twice in the post and I just want one.
