Hi!

After searching the forum for the best way to migrate with page builder in mind i finally migrated with Duplicator plugin.
Worked great!

Though the SiteOrigin Button and Image widget seems to have lost some connection to CSS styles or similar.

The images does not scale to fit in its container any more and buttons dont use any css styling, with regards to color font size etc.

not really sure were to start troubleshooting this problem.
Awesome plugins btw ;)

Best,
Robin

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Robin,

I’m sorry to hear you’re having issues with your buttons and image widgets are migrations. Does saving the page where this issue is occurring on helps? If not, do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?

    Hi,
Sure. The site in question is http://www.aercrete.se
    Saving it didnt help

i’ve been trying some different methods of migrating the site, but the problem remains.

    Thx

    Robin

The buttons in question are the “Read more” on the main site, and a two more on the products aercrete 625.

i’ve fixed the image problem by using thumbnails 300×300, but this wont help on mobile. i would love it if they just resized as they did before migration.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Robin,

Thanks. It appears as the widget stylesheets aren’t outputting for some reason. Are you able to use FTP or your hosting provider file manage? If not, please reach out to your hosting provider for assistance with this.

If you are able to use either, please connect to your website and navigate to your WordPress directory. Please go to wp-content/uploads and check the permissions of siteorigin-widgets. I recommend having the permissions to 750.

Thank you, These were set to 755 already.
i tried changing them a bit but it made no difference, adjusted it back to 755.

    no luck..

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Robin,

Thanks. Hm. Okay so when that file is empty, it means that the CSS files aren’t, for whatever reason, been able to be saved.
Can you please clarify which hosting provider your website is with now?

i am using one.com right now

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Robin,

Thanks. I haven’t heard of any reports of issues when using that hosting provider. Hm. Does this issue occur when you create a new page and use these widgets?

I’ll try this first thing tomorrow morning.
    thx

I’ve now tried to create a complete new page and using the widgets button and image.

    still not working..

Can this have anything to do with the fact that we’ve created our own but simple theme for wordpress?
Can there be anything in our theme that blocks this? even though that it has worked before….

i’ve uninstalled all plugins and reinstalled with no success.

    Best,
    Robin

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Robin,

Please try reinstalling the plugin. Please navigate to WP AdminPluginsInstalled Plugins and find and deactivate SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle, then delete it. Click Add New and search for and install the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle.

If that doesn’t help, does this issue occur with the SiteORigin Headline or SiteOrigin Hero widget?

Can this have anything to do with the fact that we’ve created our own but simple theme for wordpress?
It’s unlikely, but not impossible. Try temporarily changing them to a default WordPress theme to see if that helps.

    Reinstalling won’t help.

Headline or Hero does not have any css styling as well.

Changing theme temporarily still have this issue..

    i’m lost..

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Robin,

Please try reinstalling the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle. The issue you’re facing isn’t that these specific widgets aren’t working, it’s that no widget is able to generate custom styling based on widget styling. This isn’t a widespread issue so we’re not too sure why this is happening. I suspect something went wrong during the migration that resulted in the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle files being incomplete/corrupted.

If reinstalling didn’t help, can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

    Hello Alex!

    i finally found the issue!
it was the permissions issue as you first described, i was just messing around in the wrong folders/files.

i changed it to 755 and now it all works!

    Thanks for all your support.

    Best,
    Robin
