I need some help (mobile friendly and menu options)

By GeekeBohms, 7 years ago. Last reply by Alex S, 7 years ago.

Hi!

My website (www.geekebohmsfotografie.nl) is sort of mobile friendly. The only thing that does not work well is the layout with the pictures. It is made to be a portfolio but the pictures stay so big that you only see a part of the pictures..
Is there any way I can solve this? Or does this has to do with the fact that I don’t have the premium version of the theme North?

On a website it looks great! But most people will be looking at their mobile or tablet, so this really needs to be fixed…

Also, because of the special menu for a one page website (which I followed a ‘how to’ from here) I can not link to the right options on the website on my other two pages. I managed to make the ‘home’ link to take the viewers back to the first page, but it would be nice if they could link from the portfolio to the prices as well.

Can you help me?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi GeekeBohms,

Preface: Upgrading to SiteOrigin Premium will not automatically resolve this.

Okay, so the hero widget uses CSS Background images which work differently to HTML images. For one, CSS backgrounds images must be the height of the container they’re applied to. This means that if the container is 600px, the image will be 600px in height and the browser will go so far as to clip the sides of the images off to ensure this happens.

As a result, you ideally don’t want to use the SiteOrigin Hero widget (or any background image for that matter) as a way of displaying text heavy background images or images that cannot be clipped (read: horizontally cropped). Instead, I would recommend using the SiteOrigin Image widget. Does that make sense?

Regarding your second issue, it looks like you’ve managed to resolve this. Do you still need help with this?
