I cant seem to figure out how to set up the menu. I did something wrong and now I cant figure it out. I want to display the recent posts on my home page. Right now if you click my title/slash logo it takes you to my recent posts but if you click on the home button it shows nothing but the home word. Can some one guide me to fix this. I’m new at blogging and I’m lost

It sounds like you’ve set a page to display on the home page rather than the recent posts. You can change this by navigating to WP AdminSettingsReading. Set Front page displays to Your latest posts.

Have you added any posts? If not, try adding a dummy post purely for testing by navigating to WP AdminPostsAdd New.
So Im supposed to add my recent posts into my home page how the heck do I do that im clueless

No. By adding a post to your website (which can be done by navigating to WP AdminPostsAdd New), it’ll automatically appear on your home page.

well I added some recent posts in the home page using a shortcode plugin but i shouldnt have to do that
Dont get me wrong I absolutely love the unwind theme its just i keep getting the runaround from everyone

You don’t have to use a shortcode. If you’ve set the home page as the posts page in WordPress, WordPress will take complete control over the page (meaning you can’t actually edit it) and automatically output your posts. I would recommend double checking your reading settings as I suspect they’re not correctly set.
my reading settings are set to latest post not static page so thats correct right?

Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at your home page? I suspect you’ve created a page called home and you’re viewing that page rather than your actual home page.
