I am trying to create an About Us page but this appears on the Home Page as well

Hi,
I have done the front page (Home) of the website and want to create an About Us page but when I create and publish a new page it shows up on the Home Page. How can I stop this from happening?
Also can I load up a new hero image for the About us page? Your video on this subject was very confusing.
