How to update the layout of the blog page – to add a right hand column

How do I add a right hand column to the blog page? I have added the column to the page template where the blog posts appear but this doesn’t actually show up once I post an article?

    Hi Kelly

No content entered onto a page running the Blog page template will be displayed. To use the sidebar there you’ll need to add widgets to Appearance > Widgets: Sidebar.

Alternatively use the Full Width page template and use Page Builder to insert your own right column content and display your posts on the left using the Post Loop widget.

Hi Andrew, but this template doesn’t have sidebar? It only has the footer region to add the widgets?

Sorry Kelly! I was working too fast last night and thought this was a Vantage ticket.

Origami unfortunately doesn’t have a sidebar. What you could try is:

On your Blog page select the Default Page template in the right column. Click over to the Page Builder tab (if you have our plugin installed) and create a row with two columns. In the right column insert your widgets and in your left column insert the Post Loop widget to display your posts. This sidebar will not carry over to the single post pages but you will get some kind of sidebar on your blog page.
