How to style individual columns

I set up a row and I want to add backgrounds and border to the individual columns to create info boxes. This is the site using PAGE BUILDER http://demo.controlfreakcms.com. As you can see the service boxes are just floating in the middle of no where. This is the site using a different page builder with the boxes I want.. http://www.controlfreakcms.com/demo. Can you please tell me how to accomplish this with Page Builder?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Joel

    Thanks for reaching out.

I’d recommend trying out Features widget, it’s part of the Widgets Bundle plugin:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/so-widgets-bundle/

You could add one feature per features widget. When done, use the Design tab on the right to add background and border as required.

OK.. I tried it like you said and I wasn’t able to left justify the text, style the title or the more button, or add a margin to just the top of it.. So I watched your video and tried a different approach..

I’m still not able to style the title or the more button.. I’m assuming you want us to add HTML to the text fields to do this? Even if I do that.. I’m my icons aren’t showing up for some reason. I tried changing the font color and it only changed the title.. Not the description.

    Please advise.. http://demo.controlfreakcms.com/

I was able to style the title and the more with HTML.. which isn’t ideal as most of my clients won’t know how to do that.. so please let me know if I’m missing something and/or whether you’re planning on adding anything in the future to make that easier.

    Hi, I Work Here

Widget titles are controlled by the theme stylesheet at the moment. You can change the tag if you want. That can be done from Settings > Page Builder > Widgets > Widget Title HTML.

    Hi, I Work Here

    By default it’s:

    <h3 class="widget-title">{{title}}</h3>

You can set that up as required.

Ok.. Thanks for the info on the page title.. but I’m still not sure how to style the text or the more button, my icons aren’t showing up for some reason, and I still am not sure if I’m able to left justify the text as opposed to having it be all centered?

I was able to add physical buttons and add my own h tags in the text fields you provided.. so I’m just about there.. I’m just trying to figure out why the icons aren’t showing at this point and if you’re causing the white padding above it. If I can figure that out I’ll be good to go.. I’d still like to know the answers to my questions about styling those areas for future reference.. but that’s not as important as why the icons aren’t showing.

Thanks for you help on this.

    Hi, I Work Here

Glad to hear you’re making progress :)

With regards to extra styling. Everything the Features widget has to offer at the moment is visible in the widget settings. We have lots of expansions on the go, but for now, what you see there is what is available. As you’ve noticed, additional styling would need to be done via CSS. There are several ways you could do that with varying degrees of neatness. If you need any advice in this department, let me know.

The icons not showing might be a theme conflict issue. Both the theme and the Widgets Bundle are loading Font Awesome 4.4.0. Try temporarily switching from your current theme to a default WordPress theme and see if the problem fixes. If it does we could advise on how to use a child theme to de-register Font Awesome within the theme.
