How to set permalinks in a posts loop

Hi,
My home page or posts page uses a posts loop. The home URL is fine www.sanctifyme.org. However when I click the next button at the bottom of the posts loop to go to the previous post I get www.sanctifyme.org/page/2/ and so on for each number. Is there a way of fixing this so each post will have a permalink reflecting the post.
Thanks a lot

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Hugh

    Thanks for reaching out.

Your posts show their full content, each page is showing a page of posts, they just happen to be the full posts. So to clarify, your pagination isn’t paging through posts, it’s paging through pages of posts. page/2 is correct, there isn’t a single post being displayed, it’s a page. If you changed number of posts to 10, 10 posts would display.

If you use the read more tag you can split your posts, forcing readers onto the single post: https://en.support.wordpress.com/more-tag/.

OR you can use excerpts. That setting is available at Appearance > Theme Settings > Blog.

On a side note, perhaps look into why there is a .html at the end of your single urls. Is there something incorrect added at Settings > Permalinks.
