How to secure others from posting

5 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 5 years ago

So i’m very new to building but I just created a one page site using the MONO pack. It looks great and works as advertised, however I just found out that if anyone accidentally goes to a subpage (mypage.com/subpage) that I didn’t create it takes them to a page I didn’t know existed. It’s unformulated and Says “Hello World.” It has the Posts widget already and anyone can be posting anything without my knowing. In fact stranger can theoretically be using thousands of such subpages to communicate to one another without me ever knowing. How do I lock my site and make sure that any subpage i did not create takes them nowhere.

Thank You

    Hi Gene

    Thanks for reaching out.

To delete the post in question, go to Posts in your WordPress installation. Locate the post you’d like to delete, it sounds like there is just one, and delete it.

If you’d like to globally disable comments in WordPress (only applies to new posts/pages), go to SettingsDiscussion. You can also use a plugin like Disable Comments to globally disable existing and new comments.
