How to remove space between masthead image and menu bar?

Hi

I have a set a banner image for my site using an image widget in the masthead. Beneath this, I have the menu bar, which uses white text on a black background. I want there to be no space between the banner image and the menu bar, so that they look continuous. However, there is a horizontal line of white padding/margin between them. I assume some css will remove the line, but after endless googling and experimentation I haven’t succeeded in finding it. Can you help me, please? This is the site: https://www.keithfrankish.com/

    Update: I have made some progress by using a header image, displaying the site title and tagline next to it, and setting the masthead background to black. This pretty much gets the effect I want, though ideally I’d like to remove the black bars to left and right of the header content.
