How to reduce gap between rows – Origami theme. Plus theme update.

Dear SiteOrigin,

How do I reduce the gap between rows on a page? Am using the Origami theme.

Have tried changing the rows/widget bottom margin in Page Builder from 30 to 10 (via settings/layout), but this doesn’t reflect on the page. Am using the latest version of Page Builder (version 2.10.13).

Am working on a child theme of Origami (site not yet live). I see there is an update for Origami. Perhaps this may help solve the ‘gap’ issue? If I update the Origami theme – will the child theme be updated as well & will it affect the work I’ve done?

If I upgrade to Premium, what would happen to the site, or work done on the site if I needed to unsubscribe in the future?

    Kind Regards,

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi rt

Please, send a link to the page concerned and let us know which rows to check.

Updating Origami isn’t likely to impact Page Builder related spacing challenges.

Updating your parent theme won’t have any impact on the files contained in your child theme.

If your premium license expires in the future, SiteOrigin Premium plugin won’t receive updates and your license won’t eligible for email support. Other than that, there is no impact.

    Hi Andrew,

Thank you for your reply & info.

    Here's a link – hope it works:

    http://s228123168.websitehome.co.uk/wp-admin/customize.php?theme=origami-child&return=http%3A%2F%2Fs228123168.websitehome.co.uk%2Fwp-admin%2Fthemes.php

On ‘*Accommodation’* page, the gap between the two rows – needs to be reduced a bit. Is that possible?

    Same issue on *‘Berneray’* page.

On ‘*Contact’* page, the spacing between lines in the left text column needs to be removed.

I have a few more questions re the header & footer – should I start up a new thread for that?

    Kind Regards,

    rt

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi rt

Could you perhaps take the site out of maintenance mode? If you try the above link in another browser or a private browsing window you’ll see the login page I see.

    Thanks :)

    Hi Andrew,

How do I take the site out of maintenance mode? It's not ready to go live.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Thanks

The gap above and below the Accommodation and Berneray heading can’t be changed via Page Builder or theme settings. It can be changed using Custom CSS. We can assist with small Custom CSS changes within our premium support scope. You could perhaps try the visual editor in our SiteOrigin CSS plugin if you’d like to try and make that change yourself.

The gap below “electric oven, microwave and fridge.” can be changed in Page Builder. Edit the row in question by hovering over the spanner icon on the right, Edit RowLayoutBottom Margin, set the value as required.

On the Contact page, each line is a paragraph. All the lines need to be a single paragraph. Try using the Editor widget instead if you aren’t able to resolve in the Text widget.

If you have a separate question regarding the header and footer, please, open a new thread if possible. Thanks :)

    Hi Andrew,

Thanks for your advice. Was able to solve the gap between rows via Edit
Row/LayoutBottomMargin. Managed to solve the issue of the line spacing on the Contact Page by using separate rows for each line & then reducing the
Bottom Margin for each row as above.

*CSS editor:* When I open up CSS Editor, the only part of the site that shows is the site title, tag line & menu. How can I see all the data I have entered?

    Many Thanks,

    rt

    Hi, I Work Here

Super, glad to hear you’re making progress.

Are you using the visual editor in SiteOrigin CSS and only the first part of the site is showing? If so, try temporarily deactivating all non-SiteOrigin plugins, does the issue resolve in this state?

    Hi Andres,

Tried deactivating all non-SiteOrigin plugins – this did not solve the issue.

    Kind Regards,

    rt

    Hi Andrew,

All seems OK now. Discovered that if I click on an element (inside CSS
Editor), then a pop-up on bottom right directs me to Navigate to: the site url.

When I click on this, I can see all of the page details etc inside CSS
    Editor.

Thank you for all of your help – greatly appreciated. Will open a new thread re the header/footer qns.

    Kind Regards,

    rt
