How to put text into table?

Hello,
I could create table with different rows but how to put the text into this table?
If I want to get back to editor, I was asked “Would you like to clear your Page Builder content and revert to using the standard visual editor?” There are no option to keep the content and back to editor….
How to put text into table?
thanks.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Tatyana,

Unfortunately, there’s no reliable way of reverting to the WordPress editor so we only recommend reverting to editor if you no longer plan on using the editor.

If you need to replicate the standard WordPress editor, we recommend using the SiteOrigin Editor Widget which is included in the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle.

    Alex,
I don’t need to use original WordPress editor if could write using SiteOrigin Editor.
So, in order to be able to use text on SiteOrigin Editor, I need to install plugin SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle.
    Is it correct?
    thanks.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Tatyana,

Yes, if you would like to use the SiteOrigin Editor widget you’ll need to install the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle which includes the SiteOrigin Editor widget.

Alternatively, you can use the text widget.

    Hi Tatyana,

You’re after the SiteOrigin Editor widget. Please open a page builder powered page and click Add Widget. Search for the Editor and select the SiteOrigin Editor widget. Insert it.

Open the widget and write as desired. For reference, the SiteOrigin Editor widget widget looks like this:

    Hi Tatyana,

I was trying to use layout icon locate in the right but could not insert a mount of px to the left/right….

What icon are you specifically referring too?

I would recommend installing TinyMCE Advanced which will add an icon to the editor widget that will allow you to easily create tables.

Alex, take a look on let part of the screen with icon Layout:
    http://sfreorelaty.fatcow.com/layout.png

What is the purpose of the options: Layout, Attribute, Design and if I could create the table from any of those options without installing extra plugin?

    thanks.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Tatyana,

The widget styles sidebar allow you to adjust the widget containers styling. It doesn’t allow you to create tables or anything like that, it’s purely for styling. Everything on the left is the contents of the widget while everything in the sidebar is for the widget container.

    Does that make sense?

  11. 6 years, 9 months ago tatyana

    Alex,
For me make sense to make it as simple as possible and use as much functionalities as it is possible.
I don’t think that creating extra plugin add. simplicity and I am also worry that it need to be updated regularly because outdated plugin could create a security issue.

I’ve installed the plugin that you recommend:

    Questions regarding:
    a) Why there are 2 rows with the same items, like Add Widgets, Row, Layouts?
Are those items are for different purposes?

    http://sfreorelaty.fatcow.com/2-add-wiget.png

    b) What is the purpose of file as is it supposed to get path of the file/anything else?
    http://sfreorelaty.fatcow.com/file.png

Since I want to have it simple without extra plugin, the questions arrived.

Can I create Word press site from scratch/any direction to do so?
I’ve told that need to use Underscore theme for making Word press side from scratch.
    Is it correct?

    Thanks.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Tatyana,

I would recommend giving the SiteOrigin Page Builder Getting Started guide a quick look.

    1. When no rows are present, we’ll show the “duplicated” section to give you an idea how to proceed. Yes, those buttons are technically duplicated to that section but that’s fine in this instance as they’re critical for proceeding (read: it’s impossible to ignore them).

    2. I’m unsure what you’re referring too in this in this image, but I think you’re referring to the table. Click it and set it up as desired.

Yes, but I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re familiar with at least the basics of theme development. Underscores isn’t required to make a custom theme – it is, however, a good foundation to build off of. We cannot directly assist with this.

I had been asking about very left field “file”
What is the purpose of this “file”” as is it supposed to get path of the file/anything else?
    thanks

    Hi Tatyana,

Unfortunately, I’m unsure what file field you’re referring too. Can you highlight the specific area that you’re calling file? Sorry about this.

  15. 6 years, 9 months ago tatyana

    Alex,
it is called file(see link below)
When I click on this file it show: New Document, Print
How to use this options/maybe you have a clear instruction for using all fields(selling below)?
    thanks

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Tatyana,

Ah. That’s the default TinyMCE Bar. There’s really no reason to open the file drop down or the other ones unless you have a specific use for them (most of the time you won’t). You’ll need to look up the TinyMCE documentation for information on what each of options in the drop downs do.

The important button for you in this instance is the aforementioned table button.

  17. 6 years, 9 months ago tatyana

    Alex,
TinyMCE documentation that I find on internet is huge…
I rather need to know how to use SiteOrigin Editor, I mean, to know what is the purpose of every bottom provided.
Do you have some a short to the point material regarding of this?
    thanks.

  18. 6 years, 9 months ago Alex S
    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Tatyana,

To clarify, those drop downs are being added by TinyMCE Advanced plugin so they aren’t a part of the default editor.

Unfortunately, as a result, we don’t have material written to explain what everything does.

  19. 6 years, 9 months ago tatyana

    Alex,
could you explain why my WordPress side started to show not English letters(probably German..) and how to convert it back to English?
    Is it bug/anything else?
    (See file attached).
I am using MAMP-PRO for server.
    thanks.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Tatyana,

Unfortunately, I’m not too sure why that is happening but by the looks of it has something to do with one of your plugins as the word Play is commonly mentioned. With that said, this issue is very unlikely related to us as we’ve never received a similar report before.

  21. 6 years, 9 months ago tatyana

    Alex,
    you wrote
“”we don’t have material written to explain what everything does”
Do you have some material that could explain at least how sp,e parts of this editor work that I could start efficiently to use it?
    thanks.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Tatyana,

No. We don’t any documentation written for those buttons/editor functionality works as they’re not being added by our plugin. I would take a look at TinyMCE Advanced documentation as it may give you a better idea of how to use it.

With that said, the aforementioned table functionality is self-explanatory so I would recommend trying it.

  23. 6 years, 9 months ago tatyana

    Alex,
So, the way to add a table to the text is following:

1.open any page on Word press that need edition
    2.Click Add.Vigit
    3.Choose Site Origin Editor
4 Highlight this editor and inside it chose edit
    5. you can select table after following 1 to 4 as above.

Is it correct or is the simpler way to add.table/edit page on WordPress side?

If I need to edit a lot of pages, how can I speed up the process?
You could see that I could not do it efficiently if I every time need to follow steps 1 to 4 (see above).
    thanks.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Tatyana,

That’s correct. If all you need to do is add a table and don’t plan on using any of the SiteOrigin Page Builder functionality you may be better off just adding the table directly to the WordPress editor.

  25. 6 years, 9 months ago tatyana

    Alex,
    you wrote:
“If all you need to do is add a table and don’t plan on using any of the SiteOrigin Page Builder functionality….”
I still don’t get what the functionalities are…
Once again, what is the link to those functionalities that I could use that are not related other source/plugin/ like TinyMCE or others – that I could take a look and use.
Are the any direction exist that I could follow to use SiteOrigin Page Builder functionality?
If there are no as such, could you write down shortly what functionality and how to use for SiteOrigin Page Builder in order to use it practically?

    thanks.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Tatyana,

You can find SiteOrgin Page Builder’s documentation here. I would definitely recommend giving it at least a quick read.

  27. 6 years, 8 months ago tatyana

    Alex,
I installed SiteOrgin Page Builder on one of my WordPress side
and I could not do just simple edition of the pages, like adding text, using style(bold) and so on. For this simple purpose I need to revert to initial editor and it is pretty inconvenient(see interface attached).
Is it possible to do simple edition of the page using SiteOrgin Page Builder?
    thanks.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Tatyana,

SiteOrigin Page Builder is a tool that allows you to create structure and layouts. It doesn’t directly handle content generation (which is what you’re trying to do). To do that, it allows you to add widgets that are used to create content. A very basic widget is the SiteOrigin Editor widget is the base WordPress editor in widget form which allows you to create content. You’ll need to add a SiteOrigin Editor widget to SiteORigin page Builder to add the tex you’re looking to add.

  29. 6 years, 8 months ago tatyana

    Alex,
Right now I have SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle
Should I add some additional plugins to make the simple editions and also more complicated one? If so what is exact names of plugins that need to be added?
    thanks.

  30. 6 years, 8 months ago tatyana

    Alex,
I could type and use formatting switching between Page Builder and Editor.
Do you have some advice how to use different language using this plugin?
I mean, should I use separate software on different language and then copy and past on page template or I could do it directly on WordPress?
    thanks.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Tatyana,

You have all of the plugins you need to make the desired edits. I would recommend giving the SiteOrigin Page Builder documentation a read as it’ll explain how to actually use the plugin and do what you want to do.

Regarding wultilingual websites, we recommend using either Polylang (free) or WPML (paid).
