How to include multiple authors on a post

I am looking for a way for a post’s “by” line to include multiple authors. I have tried a couple of plugins, including Co-Authors Plus, but none have worked. Any suggestions?

    Hi Chris

To my knowledge this can’t be done from within the WordPress core so a plugin would need to be used.

We’d need to work up a child theme for you with some template integration to make Co Authors Plus work with Vantage. I’ll take a look at this for you ASAP on Monday.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Here we go:

    https://siteorigin.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/vantage-child-co-authors.zip

Install via Appearance > Themes > Add New: Upload Theme.

Keep in mind activating a child theme can reset your menu and Customizer settings. Test it out before changing any settings back.

thank you for helping with this. I do use custom CSS. Should I export any of the settings/configuration files before I activate?

    Hi, I Work Here

Custom CSS is safe. Activate the child theme and check it out before taking any action. Usually the Customizer resets. That’s a pain. I usually open the Customizer up in one tab, then activate the child theme in another and then manually copy all the Customizer settings over. But check it out before bothering with any of that.

    Andrew,

I was able to get the child theme set up and get the co-authors plus plugin to work. However, my posts are being categorized using a different author slug http://www.iweathernet.com/author/chris-robbins (previously, it was http://www.iweathernet.com/author/chris). Now, it redirects to the new slug, and isn’t showing all of my posts. Is there a way around this (so that my new posts are still categorized using the old slug without the redirect and without losing my post archives)?

    Thanks
    Chris

    Andrew,

I think I resolved the problem.

    Have a good weekend.
