How to Fix Page Builder Without Losing Website Content?

4 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 4 years ago

Recently, I had a website crash because the Page Builder plugin got corrupted and prevented the website from publishing online. We tested all plugins on the website and verified that Page Builder was the one causing the issue. We deactivated the plugin to keep the website visible, but we would still like to use Page Builder in the future. I don’t know what the precise issue with Page Builder is. How can we fix the plugin without losing website content? If we deleted and re-downloaded it, would it cause us to lose any content? Thanks!

    Hi, thanks for reaching out.

If we deleted and re-downloaded it, would it cause us to lose any content?
You can certainly do this without losing any content. When plugins update they essentially do the same, the entire plugin folder is overwritten with the new version.

If you face the same issue again, please, try to establish a working baseline. Does the issue occur with only Page Builder and a default theme like Twenty Nineteen activated? Temporarily deactivate all other plugins. Please, let us know, we’ll assist in finding the cause of the problem.
