Unfortunately, this isn’t possible at this time. I’ve marked this thread as a feature request. We often look through these threads to get ideas for what to add in our future updates. Hopefully, we’ll be able to add this in a future update. In the meantime, consider hiding it and placing a SiteOrigin Headline widget after the image.
If you need this urgently, you could always post a job on Codeable.

OK, i’ve added the headline widget. I selected the font colour as black in the control box but it didn’t change anything so I tried changing the font colour in the design area but instead of changing the font colour, it changes the background colour of the text to black
