I am taking over management of a website that appears to have used SiteOrigin and I cannot edit pages. I am unable to get into the page editor to edit all of a page. Switching back to classic editor, I was able to see the Page Builder tab, but I still cannot edit pages properly.
This website has the following plugins activated and I don’t know what each does or how to use them. I would prefer to deactivate all of them without breaking the page formats. Is there a way to do this? If not, how can I edit a page?
Page Builder by Site Origin, Site Origin CSS, Site Origin Widgets Bundle, and Widgets for Site Origin.
Hi Patricia
Thanks for reaching out. There is possibly a JavaScript error on the page, you can check for errors via the browser console, here is how https://wordpress.org/support/article/using-your-browser-to-diagnose-javascript-errors/#step-3-diagnosis.
Yes, i found many errors. I really need to get in to this page to fix a dead link. I can only see the first paragraph using site builder tools. If I use the WordPress text editor to change the link and update, the changes aren’t saving. Would a screenshot help? I don’t want to just deactive all the Site origin plugins as I’m thinking all the formatting will be lost. Or, are there options to delete and save formatting? please help! thank you.
Hi. Deactivating plugins will not cause any content loss. Please, take a screenshot of the errors you’re seeing in the browser console, upload it to imgur.com or any sharing site, Drive/Dropbox etc. and send us the link. Thanks.
