How to change Url on “more” links

8 years ago · Last reply by Alex S 8 years ago

I apologize if I don’t quite use the right terminology on this question.

On my posts pages, the “more” links are going to an anchored URL (i.e. opening the page and going to the spot after the more link), instead of just opening up the entire post at the top of that article. Is there a way to change the behaviour? I like the “Read More” button style but I’d rather it just open the post at the top of the post instead. Perhaps that is counter-intuitive since it is “read more” not “read post”!

Example, one URL goes to:
https://jenkuntz.ca/2017/08/test-personal-post/#more-111

… and I’d rather is just go to: (without the #more-111 part)
https://jenkuntz.ca/2017/08/test-personal-post

I’m using North…

Thanks
Jen

    Hi Jen,

You can do this by adding this snippet to your website. I would recommend adding it through Code Snippets – once installed, please navigate to WP Admin > Snippets > Add New, add the snippet and click Save Changes and Activate.
