How many widgets is too many?

So, my company is getting ready to host an auction event and I would like to post all of the items on our site. By using Page Builder, I found that it’s very nice to use a new row for each item, with two columns in each row; one for a photo widget and one for a plain text widget. We typically have around 250 auction items in nine different categories (each category hosted on a different page on the site). 250 items divided by 9 categories is an average of around 28 items per page, which would mean 56 widgets one each page as well. Even though the widgets are pretty “light”, do you think this amount of widgets will crash/slow down our website?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Jhoffert,

It really depends on the (file) size of the images and amount of content per item present. I personally would split up the categories into two pages or use the custom post type builder and the post loop widget to output them for me automatically.

With that said, it is quite unlikely that 56 widgets would cause any major issues.
