    Thanks for reaching out.

    All WordPress themes overwrite when updating so it’s unfortunately not update safe to make changes to theme files directly. If you do and run a theme update all your code edits will be lost. If you’d like to edit the theme at a code level, please, use a child theme: https://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes.
