How do I create a fixed image background for single row?

5 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 5 years ago

I want to have a fixed image on a section of my site. No text on top. I want the page to scroll over the image, without it moving.

I have tried numerous things but just can’t find a way to make it work. The only way I’ve found is to:

1/. Create a row;
2/. Add a text widget;
3/. Place the image as a row background, fixed;
4/. Type repeated returns into the text box until enough of the background image is visible.

This seems like a crazy thing to have to do, without guaranteed results on all bowsers and devices.

I can’t see any widgets that let me simply place a fixed image, without overlaid text (or empty returns).

Can anyone help?

Thank you!

    Hi David

    One option is to remove the Text widget. Next, edit the row, open the Attributes section and in the CSS declarations field insert a min-height:

    min-height: 480px

    Does that help? If so, it’s a low overhead solution.

    You could also use the SiteOrigin Hero widget which has a Fixed background option and a height setting.
