Horizontal Line puts in a blank line in SiteOrigin Editor

When I try to insert a horizontal line into a post using the Horizontal line in SiteOrigin Editor, it shows as a black line across the page while in the editor, but on the page itself it shows up as just a blank line. Here’s an example:

Page: https://thecbandqinwyoming.com/v5-casper/
The first entry just below the 9 July 2022 header, which begins “On June 15th I repaired…”, I inserted a horizontal line below the text and above the image. It shows as a blank line when viewing the page. Any idea why this might be happening? I’ve never been able to get the horizontal line to work.

Bonus question: is there a way to make black the default border color for all new posts, rather than the current setting?

Thanks!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Mark

    Thanks for getting in touch.

    The hr tag styling is being handled by the theme’s Bootstrap stylesheet. If you’re using SiteOrigin CSS you can copy the following to AppearanceCustom CSS:

    hr {
        margin-top: 20px;
        margin-bottom: 20px;
        border: 0;
        border-top: 1px solid #eee;
    }

    Or use the field at CustomizeAdditional CSS. The values can then be customized as required. We aren’t usually able to assist with Custom CSS adjustments within our free support scope. Hopefully, the above helps you to get started changing the theme’s HR styling.
