Homepage in draft mode after editing

Hi everyone,

my site runs on WP 4.9.1 with Vantage 1.6.9 and PageBuilder 2.6.2. One of my pages is set as home page in appearance > customize > home page settings > Your homepage displays (*) a static page > “My Homepage”.

When I click “visit site” my homepage appears as expected. I click “Edit Home Page” in the top row, PageBuilder appears (Custom Home Page ). Everything fine until here. When I click [Save Home Page] and then “View Page”, I find the message “Ready to publish your first post? Get started here.”. The reason: My Home Page is in draft mode after pressing [Save Home Page]. WP doesn’t find the page selected in appearance > … > home page settings (as published page) and switches to “Your homepage displays” > (*) Your latest posts. What I have do do now is to open my home page from backend > pages and to publish it. Then it is necessary, to define it as home page again (appearance > … > home page settings). Everything works fine from now on until I use “Edit Home Page” the next time …

When I open a page, that is not defined as home page, an “edit page” link appears instead of “edit home page”. In ‘edit page’-dialog, [update] leads to publishing as expected.

Is there a way, to let [Save Home Page] publish my home page instead of saving it as draft? Alternatively, is there a way, to edit my home page in ‘edit page’ dialog instead of ‘edit home page’?

Thanks in advance for your support.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Michael,

Is the custom home page enabled? You can check this by navigating to WP Admin > Appearance > Home Page and ensure the Status is Set to On (top left-hand corner of the page). Did that work?

If not, please navigate to WP AdminAppearanceHome Page and click Edit as Page. Are you able to save through that page?

    Hi Alex,

    > Is the custom home page enabled?
no, it wasn’t. Setting it to “On” solved my problem :-)

Thank you for your support :-)
