Hello. I am having issues with the Social Media Button Widget in my home page.
The theme I’m using is the Sydney Child Theme.
I created a bottom row with this widget on the homepage and I did the same in all the other pages, following exactly the same settings, and the issue is just on the home page.
What happens is that the row doesn’t change height and the icons, instead of aligning in the center, are displaying in a vertical row.
Any solution for this?
P.S. I am not really experienced with WP, so I might be doing something wrong.
Regards,
Enrico
Hi Enrico,
Does this issue occur if you temporarily change to the base Sydney theme or move the SiteOrigin Social Media Buttons widget to a different row?
If this issue occurs regardless of the theme you’re using or the row the SiteOrigin Social Media Buttons widget is in, do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?
Thanks for the fast reply. I've just tried to move it to a different row but nothing changes.
Unfortunately I don't have any public URL because I am creating the website in local.
Is there anything else you can suggest me to try? I know without seeing the website it's pretty hard to give suggestions.
Hi Enrico,
Unfortunately, I really need to be able to see this issue to work out why this is happening.
Regardless, there are a few things you can try to rule out anything else causing this issue, such as a plugin conflict test. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.
If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
If that doesn’t help, try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
Thanks! I'll try and after I'll update you
I've tried all what you said but nothing works.
Regarding this "switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related" I doubt it's theme related as I've seen it in the way I want it on another website that has the Sydney theme, and I'm also sure about the way they made it look that way that is exactly the way
I've done on mine.
Hi Enrico,
Thanks for trying. Unfortunately, at this point, I really need to be able to see this issue to work out why this is happening. Would it be possible for you to put your website temporarily online so I can see what’s going on?
Not in this moment honestly. I can leave it there for now and when I'm done and ready to publish online I'll get back to you.
Thanks so much for the help!
Hi Enrico,
Actually, would it be possible for you to send me an export for the page containing the SiteOrigin Social Media Buttons experiencing issues? To export a page, please open up the relevant page in the editor and click the Layout button in the Page Builder toolbar. Then click import/export and then click download. Please upload the export to a 3rd party file hosting site such as WeTransfer (no email is required).
This should hopefully allow me to view this issue and prevent the need for viewing the website.
Not sure if this is what you meant but here is the link:

Here I made a PdF with how it looks (Home page) and how it should look

Hi Enrico,
Thanks. The provided layout works without issue for me which suggests this issue is caused by something specific to your website. Unfortunately, we’ll need to pick this back up when you’re ready to publish your website online. Sorry mate.
Okay. Thank you and I'll get back to you when I'm done with it (if I can't find a way to fix it)
