So…a while back, for no readily apparent reason, our home page edit link suddenly changed to one of the blog entries on our site. In short, I can no longer edit the home page of my site.
From the initial dialog menu, I select “Pages” then “All Pages” and it lists out all of the pages on my site. So far, so good. One of them is “Home” and this is where things go awry. If I click on the edit links, it brings up a totally different page – a blog entry. Everything there looks as you would expect, including the permalink, it’s just not the actual home page of my site! I get this editing page for the blog entry whether I just click on the “Home” line or Edit, or even Quick Edit. Now, if I click on VIEW, I get the correct home page but, of course, I cannot edit it.
I’ve gone through and updated everything to the latest version (WP, plugins, themes, etc) – no change. This is the only page I’ve found that seems to be crossed up too – the other pages on the site are editable and they are what they are supposed to be.
Any thoughts? Is there another editor, view, somewhere I might need to re-point the editor, or…? I’m at a loss.
Hi James
Thanks for reaching out.
To confirm, does the issue persist if you temporarily deactivate all plugins except for Page Builder AND temporarily switch to a default theme like Twenty Nineteen? In that state, if you go to Pages and edit your home page, is it editable?
