Hide button url?

9 years ago · Last reply by Alex S 9 years ago

Hello,

is there a way to disable left click to copy the url of a button and is it also to disable, when hovering over a button, the output of the link on bottom left of the browser window?

It’s to hide the link of a download so it can’t be shared the “easy” way.

Thanks

    Hi Tanckom

Unfortunately, this isn’t possible without a fair amount of custom coding. This is beyond the scope of what we can help you with on the forums, but you could hire a developer to implement this for you. We highly recommend using Codeable.

Also, based on your use case, I would recommend using a digital download-focused plugin – we recommend the excellent Easy Digital Downloads.

    Hello, thanks for the reply.

I see, however i did some research and found on several other plugin/themes website that there only needs to be one command/line/code edited where, when the mouse is hovering over the button, that the URL display should be disabled and left click also. I know how frustrating this always is for you to get asked for custom coding, but i hoped that the solution was quick for these two “simple??” changes.

It’s not that i want to add some security layer to the button, but just disable these two functions.

    Thanks!

    Hi Tanckom,

No. It’s not as simple as that. It should be noted that I can help you with the hover effect but I cannot help you with hiding the link on hover.
