Hi, new to WordPress & Vantage theme stopped working. I have read some of the related help topics and disabled the plug ins, then added them again – this seems to have no effect?
I have just set up this web page and do think the issue is linked to an update – though I have no clue how to solve the problem.

Sorry to hear things haven’t been working as expected. We need a fair amount of detail to try troubleshoot problems. If you can let us know what you mean by “theme stopped working” I’m sure we’ll be able to help.

Hey Andrew – thank you for getting back to me.
The Vantage theme was uploaded and functioning fine, then I allowed an update. I cannot see the name of this update to advise you which one it was. I had also just added the Black Studio plug in.
I had also just activated the page builder for the front page – then the page went back to looking like there was no theme installed (blank, plain page)
I went to install Vantage again but it is showing as already installed, the most up-to-date version.
I can not seem to remove and re-install Vantage or swap between installed themes. I would just like Vantage available again for my page.

Thank you for the link above however, I am still having problems.
My blog is showing a Twenty Ten theme that I do not want (not a white screen). I have installed and down loaded the Vantage theme and had previously activated it but for some reason it has changed over to Twenty Ten.
I would like to select the Vantage theme again but I cannot find out how to do this???
If I go into Appearance – Themes and find Vantage it show as being installed but gives me no option to select it, only preview. As it is installed how can I swap over to it?

I am able to change the theme to any installed theme, but not Vantage. I have the most recent version of Vantage installed.

When you hover over Vantage there should then be an Activate button that appears in blue. If this is happening try hovering over Vantage, click Theme Details, then click Delete in the bottom right corner. Then re-install from Appearance > Themes > Add New and search for Vantage.

Hi,
The Vantage theme is already installed and activated (as i’ve been using it before this happened) the only button option showing is ‘Preview’. There is an ‘Installed’ button but this is grayed out. There is no delete button.
How else can I delete the Vantage theme and re-install it? I have attached a URL so hopefully you can see the issue.

Can you confirm that you’ve hovered over Vantage, clicked Theme Details and then, in the popup window, checked the right corner, there should be a red Delete link there.
(In order to delete Vantage another theme must be activated as your main theme).

I have tried this, when I click on the Vantage theme it does not display a pop up box to do this.
I have a different theme active and if I click on ‘Theme Details’ for a different theme, say Twenty Fourteen (which I have not installed) a pop up box is displayed, with the delete at the bottom, right corner.
With Vantage, when I click on the theme ‘Details and preview’ it takes me to a different screen, with ‘installed’ grayed on in the top left corner.

At the bottom of the image you displayed previously it shows an ‘Activate’ button at the bottom.
Even though I currently have a different theme, maybe Vantage still thinks it is active?

The next step you can take here is to login to your server via FTP or use your hosting file manager. Head to:
/wp-content/themes/
And delete the vantage folder. That should free the installation up to install Vantage again.
