I’m working on a site and i’m using a Hero with a video background. After doing testing on a mobile device, the Hero uses a background image, which is just fine (as mentioned here https://siteorigin.com/thread/background-video-in-hero-doesnt-show-on-phonetablet/)
My concern is that on some resolutions, the image shows up behind the video, which doesn’t look good at all.
Does anyone have a solution to this? I could just create two separate hero rows, one for mobile and one for desktop, but this just feels messy.
Thanks
Hi Tom,
This shouldn’t be happening, and I’m not too sure why it is. Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?
Hi Alex, I don’t have a live site i’m afraid. Although I can tell you that it’s on a fullwidth stretched Hero Image, using a video background
Hi Tom,
Would it be possible for you to send me an export for this widget? To do this please open up the linked page in the editor and click the Layout button in the Page Builder toolbar. Then click import/export and then click download. Please upload the export to a 3rd party file hosting site such as teknik.io.
Also, are you able to replicate this issue while using a default WordPress theme?
Hi Alex,
Here’s the page layout. I haven’t tried replicating it, although i’m using Storefront, which is said to be compatible with this.
Hi Tom,
Oddly, the provided file works without issue for me.
Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look?
This is a private message.
Hi Alex,
I’m afraid i’m not allowed to do that. I’ll continue investigating the issue myself. Thanks anyway
What I’ve done instead is made two different layers, one for mobile and one for desktop. Not the most ideal, but it works.
