I’m using HERO for a simple slideshow. But I can only get [buttons] to work on one slide at a time. Even though in each frame I’ve created different buttons.
I use the correct shortcode, and the button shows up on one frame, but on the other frame it literally says [buttons].
I’ve rebuilt a couple of times, and even duplicated the frame with the working button (in hopes of copying whatever magic i had going on), but still: i get no button!
Any thoughts?
Any ideas on this?
Sorry to bug…but I still can’t get this to work.
Isn’t this slide designed to be used with more than 1 button?
Is there a better widget I should be using instead to achieve the same result?
tia
Hi JungleNYC,
Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on? If you need to keep this URL private from other users, just select “Private Reply” on the bottom right of the comment box.
Could you please also send me an export for this widget? To do this open up the page with the widget, and click prebuilt. Then click import / export and then click download. Please upload the export to a 3rd party file hosting site such as teknik.io.

Hi JungleNYC,
Sorry for the delay.

Hi JungleNYC,
You did. The layout works as expected for me without any modifications. As such, this is likely a plugin conflict. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.
If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
Hey Alex, I disabled EVERY other plug in, cleared browser cache, tried other browsers, and don’t have any caches installed. And it still doesn’t work correctly.
Could this be yet another problem with the ThemeTrust “fork?”
Hi JungleNYC,
Yes. :( I wasn’t aware of it until yesterday but apparently they forked the SiteOrigin Widgets bundle as well. You’ll have to contact them about this issue – sorry for wasting your time mate. :(
Can I just purchase a non-forked version of PB? Seems like all the issues I’m having are because of this version that I have. Will it run alongside?
Hi JungleNYC,
SiteOrigin Page Builder is a free plugin. It won’t run alongside the fork and you need to note that if you’re using any Theme Trust widgets they’re unlikely to continue working as I’m pretty sure they’re bundled with their forks – meaning they won’t be able to be loaded.
