Hero widget is now not resolving to be edited

Using Chrome browser.
WP 4.5.1
Page Builder 2.4.6
SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle 1.5.11

Editing a page that was built using Page Builder and which has a Hero element at the top of page. When clicking on the Hero element it opens editing page “background” but only ever shows the revolving circle indicating resolving the editor itself. the other widgets I have active (numerous) all seem to be working as I use arrows through the page’s widgets.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Sin,

Do you currently have Wordfence installed?

    If you do:
This is a WordFence issue. The issue is that it’s initially very strict so things like the Learning Mode do definitely help in resolving issues like this one. However, if you want to “skip” the learning process and just use your widgets you can do so pretty easily. Go to the affected widget and open it up, don’t get “blocked” yet. Instead open up another tab on WP AdminWordFenceLive Traffic and filter it by blocked traffic. Then make an adjustment to your button widget and you’ll get blocked. Go back to the Wordfence tab and press the whitelist param from FireWall button. This is 100% safe as the contents of the field are not at all close to what would be required for an XSS attack. (it’s really quite odd it would even suggest such a thing…).

Let me know if this helps.

    If you don’t:
This is very likely a plugin conflict. Could you please try a plugin conflict test? Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

I do have WordFence and I even tried disabling all WF functions and refreshed the admin pages but nothing has changed after even a few minutes and refreshes.

I then disabled every plugin except for SO plug ins. Still looking at screwed up administrative pages and the live site is a mixture of default images from your installation and my text and a few images.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Sin,

Did you tell WordPress to send me the password? It hasn’t come through yet so it’s possible you may have mistakenly not checked the box. If you didn’t, the best way to send me the password would be to manually set the password and send it via the forums. Please be sure to mark your post as private. (email replies are not private)

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Sin,

I can’t seem to replicate the issue described on your website. Can you possibly link me to a version of the Hero widget where this issue is present?

I am so sorry, I provided the account under my other website.

However, I did have to delete the offending Hero and restarted a new layout. I opened an account on the proper host just now.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Sin,

That’s fine mate. I’ve logged in and am unable to replicate the issue described. Can you please see if you can run into this issue again?

I recorded a short snippet of what happens when I try to edit the hero image portion of a widget in Page Builder.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Sin,

Thanks. I was able to replicate the issue and whitelist the action via Wordfence. Please try now to see if you can replicate the issue on your end.

Still happening on just the hero image. Just spins the circle.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Sin,

Hm. Could you link me to that page? I can’t get stuck on the loading icon regardless of what I do in the Hero Widget.
