hero widget

hi and thanks for taking my question

I have used the hero widget on my site , as per the video instruction, when i preview the page, everything is great, when i save and try and view the page on another device or just as a client would open the site, the hero sections are not visible ???

    Hi Ashley,

    Can you try following our general WordPress plugin troubleshooting guide? From the sounds of things, this might fix your issue. Here’s a video on the process:

    The first thing to check is server-side caching through plugins like W3 Total Cache, WP Super Cache, etc. If you have any of these caching/performance plugins installed, try clearing their cache and see if that helps.

    It might also be browser cache. Try clearing your browser cache, and then refreshing the page to see if that helps.

    You can read more about this sort of issue on the WordPress codex.

    Next, you can try running a plugin conflict text. You can start by disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

    If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

    Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

    If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

    Hi Alex

    thanks for the info, checked out the video and disabled all and found a conflict , i thought with AMP disabled it and every thing worked as it should. The next day AMP had re installed, i deleted it and things started working again. Now, several hours later it has returned to the loss of the Hero. I have W3 cache installed and purged all caches but nothing seems to work. Please help

    Hi Ashley,

    I just had a look at your website and I’m able to see the hero widget without issue. Is it a specific hero widget or is it all widgets? Can you please try clearing your browser cache once more to see if that helps?

    No. Your data is stored separately and will not be affected by temporarily changing theme.

    I have disabled a few plugins and it seems to have fixed the landing page,
    however the services page is still not responding . Any suggestions?

    Hi Alex, I have gone back to my site and the problem has reoccurred, so no further in front. I disconnected some plugins and cleared the cache via W3 and things went ok. this has happened twice now, it appears fixed but the reverts back??

    I have found the issue source, just not sure how to fix it, when i resize the screen it shows the hero image, as in shrink a normal laptop screen, and then when i extend it to the full size , the hero image disappears, any suggestions?

    Hi Ashley,

    To clarify, have you cleared your browser cache? I ask as I was able to see the hero widget without issue when I last viewed your website and you haven’t specifically stated you have cleared your browser cache.

    Please note that due to a redirect issue on your website (related to https vs http – this is unlikely to be related to the hero widget issue), I’m unable to view your website without issue at the moment so I can’t verify if I’m still able to view your hero widget now.

    Hi Alex, I have cleared the cache about 100 times, and tried a thousand other things, anyway i have narrowed the issue to only showing up when the screen has been reduced to an ipad size (horizontal) even if the ipad is vertical the image does not show. On a laptop the image will only show when the screen size is reduced to the ipad size.

    So its there but does not always show until the screen size has been adjusted. must be a setting of some kind????

    Thank you for confirming.

    I was able to view your website this time and I just checked – I can still see your hero widgets in all instances (both on desktop and iPad).

    No. There’s no such setting. Unless there’s a setting being added by a third party plugin – in which case disabling the plugin would have helped.

    Just to confirm, is this for a specific hero widget or all hero widgets for you? maybe I’m missing a certain hero widget that I’ve never been able to see. Can you please send me a screenshot of what the hero widget looks like? Please note that we’re currently unable to process attachments so you’ll need to upload the image to an image hosting provider like Imgur or vgy.me.

    Thanks for the follow up,

    I ticked the box on yoast, to disable the security options and the page builder option that said uncheck this box if having conflicts
    That has fixed the. Issue and all is working correctly. Not sure which one or if both were the issue
