Hero Slider – Image Size – contain vs cover

Hi Folks,
I am setting up a row with 5 Hero Sliders across. (I am using the Hero Slider so I can limit the height of the row.) I would like the images to be contained within the frame of the cell but I have several images that are being cut off at the border either vertically or horizontally (my photos vary in size). I am ok with the images not filling to full box ie: more space on the sides or on the top/bottom in order to have the whole image fit. I have searched to forum and have tried many things in the widget but have failed to find a solution. In the widget for each added frame there is an option “Background image type” where the only choice is “Cover but I want to “contain” the image. Can you offer a solution?

Thanks,
Barbara

    Hi Barbara

    Thanks for reaching out.

Would the SiteOrigin Slider Widget perhaps work? The Slider Widget has a Height and Responsive Height setting available.

Thank you for the suggestion. I did a quick test this morning with the SiteOrigin Slider Widget. The row does adjust for the size of the photo but what I would like to happen is to have the photo adjust for the size of the widget’s cell and have the row height remain consistent. Is there something I can do in either the SiteOrigin Slider Widget or the SiteOrigin Hero Widget that would cause the image to change size to fit the cell. I really don’t want to have to manually change the size/aspect ratio on each photo to make this work the way I want it too.

Is it possible to have the image contained in the cell and have the row height stay the same height?

    Thanks,
    Barbara

    Hi Barbara

Thanks for your feedback. If possible, please, create a test page with the Slider Widget or if you already have a test page showing the issue you’ve run into, please, send the link.

    Kind regards
