Hero Image content alignment broke

Hello!

From one day to another, (today 3march), all the alignment of the content of the hero frames is broken.

I made a simple hero frame, with a couple buttons, and used center align from the tinymce editor. This has always worked.

Now, all text and buttons on all the hero frames throughout my website are aligned to the Left, and text format as inputted by the frame is converted back to standard.

You can see an example of a broken hero frame on my site here: http://humanify.nl/front/

I have the suspicion that something is overriding the text and button formatting, but I am not certain. I have tested a normal siteorigin text editor to see if something might be wrong with the editor, but the problem seems to only limit itself with Hero frames.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Robber,

I just had a quick look at your website and it seems as though you either managed to figure this out or the issue didn’t occur for me. Is the latter the case? If so, can you please clarify what browser you’re using?

    Hi Alex,

Thanks for your reply. Yes I have partly figured it out with a workaround in my stylesheet:

    .sow-slider-image-wrapper {
    text-align: center
    }

However, I still have problems with setting text size / color / alignment directly from the TinyMCE editor (within the editor in SiteOrigin Hero widget). For example (referring to the heroframe on my website), the text is marked as a Header 3, Header 4 etc, yet this is somehow overridden by some style-rule I can not find (with Chrome inspector). Again – this ONLY happens within the Siteorigin Hero frame, all the others work just fine.

I suspect this might be some other plugin interfering, I have tried to troubleshoot it by turning off one by one, to no avail. Also a clean install of the widget bundle did not help.

P.S. I am currently using the latest public Chrome browser.

    Hi Robbert,

The hero on your homepage currently has the text set to use a paragraph rather than a header so I can’t exactly know for sure but I suspect you didn’t see the Heading Size field for the hero widget. Please open the SiteOrigin Hero Widget and then open the Design and Layout settings group and adjust the Heading Size field. This is setup like this to allow for FitText to be usable.

    Hi Alex,

Again, thanks for investing your time to reply!

The problem is that whatever style I set for any one line in the editor, counts for all. If I make one sentence a header, everything is treated as a header. Before, I could for example make the top sentence a header, and under that a paragraph. If I do this now in the editor, it looks fine (also in html view), but when I press save, the changes for the first line are universally applied to the whole text in the header.

Same goes for headers, if I make line 1 H5, line 2 H4, they will all be H5 after saving. Also, I have seen the heading size field and before ‘it all broke’, this would correctly scale different header sizes relative to the set heading size. Now it will just change all headertext to 1 universal size.

Right now my hero is set as a paragraph because this is the best I could make of it for now.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Robbert,

That’s odd. That definitely shouldn’t be happening and I can’t seem to replicate that issue locally. Can you try replicating it again? Then, can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

If that doesn’t help, can you send me a copy of your hero text? Please wrap the code in the code shortcode.

    Hello Alex,

It seems to only happen inside the tinymce editor, and only in the hero, the other siteorigin widgets work great (turning off advanced tinymce plugin does not influence the problem). Running only siteorigin plugins did not solve the issue.

My action: Select first line, select Header3, result: the whole text gets changed.

When I look in the hero text view:

<h3>Is jouw digitale bedrijfsvoering toe aan een grote schoonmaak?
Wil jij mij helpen met feedback of ideeën?
Schrijf je dan nu in, ontdek de website, en blijf op de hoogte!</h3>
    [buttons]

So I’ve manually changed it to:

<h3>Is jouw digitale bedrijfsvoering toe aan een grote schoonmaak?</h3>
Wil jij mij helpen met feedback of ideeën?
Schrijf je dan nu in, ontdek de website, en blijf op de hoogte!

    [buttons]

Manually changing it has worked. So I guess the problem is restricted to the visual editor, and only in this widget.

However, what I assume is that I maybe somehow messed up the base files for the hero widget (the files which control how the plugin responds to the admin environment).
