Installer Hero Feature: Video Not Playing
Hello,
I am just testing out this page builder and so far it seems to work great. I am testing out the Hero feature now, and although I was able learn how to set an image with no problem, when I tried to do the same for video, I got it set and everything shows up, but when I clicked the play button it doesn’t play. It’s like it’s just a screenshot of the video or something. Tested in different browsers, nothing. BTW I tested with external YouTube link if that helps.

Sorry I don’t have any links I can post. But basically, when you try to create a video using the “Hero” widget it doesn’t play, it just shows an image of the video. Try it, there is definitely a flaw there. I tested adding a video in the “Slider” widget and it works just fine, so again, there is definitely a flaw in the “Hero” widget as far as video rendering is concerned.
I tested with a YouTube vid link each time on using multiple themes, including SiteOrigin North there, same result.

Ah, that’s why. The hero video background feature has patchy Youtube support at the moment. You’ll need to use either a self-hosted video or video hosted on a different service. The latter has to be setup to automatically play.
Thanks Alex. Maybe I’ll try uploading to Vimeo then to save on my bandwidth.
Now what’s the matter with the icon text and buttons? Those don’t show either when I try to preview. Not sure what’s going on with this plugin.
Nevermind my last reply. I just noticed in small print it instructs to use the shortcode to make the button appear.
