Help – I just messed up our masthead

10 years ago · Last reply by lizziep 10 years ago

We’ve just finished a website redesign and it was looking lovely, then I thought ‘I should upgrade to Vantage Premium’ – oops. Everything is fine but now the masthead as about three times as high as it was.

We had a narrow white masthead with a neat little logo, menu bar then meta slider image (also having problems but will put that in a different thread).

I can’t find any discussion on how to fix the masthead in Vantage premium – advice please :)

Ok, I just resized the logo to 140 px wide because I thought maybe it was due to the size of the logo. That works for the masthead size but the logo is too small.

I’ll keep playing around but I think I’m missing something.

    Hi Lizzie

If you post the logo you want to use here (just make sure you reply here on SiteOrigin, and use the “Add Media” button), I’ll have someone log in and get everything fixed up for you.

To do this, we’ll just need a temporary admin account. Can you create one for the email address [email protected]? Let me know if you need instructions on how to do this.

    Hi Lizzie

I just chatted with our technical team and I have a little more feedback that might be of some help.

Were you perhaps using the Logo in Menu masthead layout option previously? If so, you can go to Appearance > Theme Settings > Logo and disable the logo size constraint. The logo size constraint option will only appear when the masthead layout is set to Logo in Menu so it won’t show now.

Your masthead is looking great now. Your logo background is white so we suggest either uploading a PNG version with a transparent background or changing your masthead background to white.

    Awesome – thank you.

I’m not really sure if I was using masthead layout – I don’t think so but will check the settings as you suggest. The way I got it to work was just by resizing my logo in photoshop (my designer hates it when I do that, but what are gonna do…). I’ll go and save it as a png shortly.

    thanks again :)
