Hi.
My headline widget displays very small (unreadable almost) on mobile devices if held portrait. On landscape it shows fine as with tablets and desktop/laptop.
I presume it is because I checked the “Use FitText” box at the bottom of the widget settings.
It uses the default H1 font, and if I uncheck the FitText box, the headline shows incorrect on mobile portrait view.
Here is the site in question (check the bottom two paragraphs on mobile portrait view to see what I mean): http://kingfisherconsultinggroupllc.com/services/
Any help would be appreciated
Hi Leebrett7,
Technically, yes, however, the actual issue isn’t FitText it’s your widget settings – specically the padding. Basically, you have 200px of total horizontal padding added for that widget. 200px on a mobile device is huge and as a result of FitText, which will resize the text to fit, the text is really small. For reference, the green area in this image is your padding on a mobile device:
Please open the SiteOrigin Headline widget that has this issue and head over to the widget styles sidebar, open the Layout settings group and set a (much smaller) mobile padding amount. Alternatively, I would recommend changing the standard padding to be % percentage based so it changed depending on resolution. Make sure to adjust it as 100% padding is also huge.
Hi Alex.
That is literally the dumbest wordpress mistake I’ve ever made. Cant believe I didnt think to double check the layout settings. Regardless – Thank you so much for pointing it out to me.
The issue is resloved.
keep up the great work!
