header/hero image integration with menu

10 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 10 years ago

Hello I would like to simplify the look of the site and incorporate the header / hero
image as one with the menu and Logo
example: https://www.paypal.com/uk/home#Close
Would this be something that could be easily created, I have atttempted many different things,
using the Custom Css plugin. and a few widgets in the header with no luck.
it seems as though it shouldn’t be that hard is there an easier way?

    Hi Patch01

    Apologies for the delay.

Vantage can’t easily remove it’s menu background and overlap a hero or slider. What’ I’d recommend doing is:

    1. Appearance > Theme Settings > Layout > Masthead Layout: Logo in Menu.
    2. Appearance > Theme Settings > Logo: Disable the logo size constraint.
    3. Appearance > Pages > Home > Page Builder: Add a Hero widget.

Once that is done I can help remove the space between the menu and the Hero widget.

Here is our Hero widget tutorial: Page: Hero

That’ll get you very close to what PayPal are using. If you set your menu background to white then you could re-create the PayPal layout that used just a few weeks ago before they introduced the transparent menu background/hero overlap.
