Grey screen of death?

Hi,

In the last few weeks, without any updates having been run, my site now shows a grey screen with an x in the top right corner, any time I try to click on a link. I have now updated all plugins, updated site origin, etc and it is still happening. I also went through and deactivated all plugins except the site origin builder. No luck.

Any advice?

    Does the issue persist if you temporarily deactivate all plugins including those authored by SiteOrigin?

    Hi Andrew – Yes it does. I’ve deactivated all of the plugins and it still persists.

    Hi Ian

    Thanks. You could try extending the test. Temporarily deactivate all plugins except for those authored by SiteOrigin and also temporarily switch to a default theme like Twenty Twenty. That’ll help rule out your theme as being involved.

    Ok, looks like it stops happening when I deactivate the theme and switch to twenty twenty. Comes back when I turn on the theme, which is Off The Shelf. I’ll reach out to ShapingRain to see if they have any ideas, unless you have any other thoughts.

    That’s progress! To confirm, you could activate your normal theme and then deactivate all plugins, including ours. The author will most likely request that. If the issue persists then it’s something you can take to the theme authors to assist with.
