Hi there,
when I started using the Google Maps widget, the map would only zoom when pressing the ctrl button (I guess everybody knows this feature of maps). So now, after having the widget in use for a while, on my website suddenly it happens that the map is zooming in/out when you simply scroll over it, without pressing ctrl, though I did not change anything in the settings – there is not even a setting in the widget to decide if I want the zoom only by scrolling or by pressing ctrl and scroll. Can anyone tell me why this is happening? I want the map to zoom only when pressing ctrl + scroll…
Thanks!
Hi Verena,
That’s odd. I’m not too sure why this is happening – we don’t restrict the scroll to CTRL or anything like that. Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?
Hi Alex,
yes, that is the website: https://accenon.de/
thank you for having a look at it
Hi Verena,
I’ve had a quick look at your website and I’m able to zoom the map without using CTRL. To clarify, what browser are you able to replicate this issue in?
Hi Alex,
yes, exactly, it is zooming without pressing ctrl. But it used to only scroll with pressing ctrl and I want this function back (it suddenly changed a few weeks ago). I don’t want it to zoom without pressing ctrl… :/
I am using Chrome usually, but I tried it with Edge and Safari as well, so I don’t think it is connected to the browser.
*it used to only zoom with pressing ctrl
Hi Verena,
Ah, I misunderstood. I’m not too sure why it previously required CTRL as this wasn’t an intended feature. I’ve logged this as a feature request. Sorry mate. :(
Hey,
oh okay :(
but thank you for logging it as a feature request (I think it makes sense with ctrl, especially if you have the map on the website in full width)
