Hello,
I recently installed siteOrigin plugin on my site and added the google maps widget. It worked fine but since the latest update, the info window is not displayed anymore (www.testcms.ch/uber-uns) I configured it to show up on click but it doesn’t. Changing the setting to “Mouse over” or “Always” has no effect. It just won’t show the info window. What can I do?
Thanks for your help.
Michael
Hi Clearbyte,
This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.
If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
Hi Alex,
Thanks for your tips. I deactivated all plugin but the SiteOrigin and changed the theme. Actually the only plugins activated are “PageBuilder by SiteOrigin” and “SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle”.
Unfortunately none of this fixed the issue. I also tried some other google maps plugins and the all work fine.
Hi Clearbyte,
Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:
[email protected]
Just navigate to UsersAdd New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the Send Password field so we receive the details.
Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.
Hi Alex,
Are there any news?
Michael
Hi Clearbyte,
Did you create an account for us? If you did, you might not have checked the “send password” field so we were never notified (basically a comment will appear in this thread notifying both of us) that you did.

Where can I specify the string that is displayed in the infobox? My info box isn’t showing up as well.
Hello thabasti
You need to fill in the “Info window content”. Whats in there will be displayed.
SiteOrigin Edit – this is the soloution Alex originally posted.
So the issue by the looks of it looks to be that you haven’t set any actual markers. Yes, you’ve techncially set a marker via the “Show Marker at map center” setting but that setting doesn’t allow for info windows. You’ll need to set a proper marker via the marker position to resolve this issue.
Hello Clearbyte,
thank you so much. It’s a shame that I haven’t seen this option. I never used a separate marker, only the “show marker at map center” option. Really appreciate your help with the screenshot!!!
:)
Hi Clearbyte,
Oh… I mistakenly marked my reply as private. Thanks for helping thabasti! :) Please note that I’ve “hijacked” your comment and edited in my solution.
Have a great weekend mate.
Never mind. Glad I could help.
@Alex S
I have another issue with siteOrigin in combination with “Crayon Syntax Highlighter”. The syntax highlighting does not work at all from within a siteorigin editor widget. See the the pictures below.
Combination siteOrigin Editor and “Crayon Syntax Highlighter”

Default WP Editor and “Crayon Syntax Highlighter”

Any ideas?
Michael
Hi Clearbyte,
Sorry for the delay.
So I’ve run quite a number of tests for this and it seems like Crayon simply doesn’t get to the point where it outputs. I’m going to see if this is something we can fix or if it’s something that has to be fixed in Crayon Syntax Highlighter. I sadly cannot provide an ETA on this so I would recommend looking for an alternative plugin in the meantime. I’m sorry. :(
