Google Maps Error: Static maps

Hi, I see that there has been a question about this previously.
I’m having a similar problem in that when I switch from an interactive map to a static map, the image disappears. I have my API key working – as I say, the interactive option works fine.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Nebben,

Is your API set up to use static maps? I ask as it uses certain libraries not used by the interactive map.
If you’re not too sure, I would recommend creating a new key via this page and changing the API to that to see if that helps.

Hi, I’ve created a new key, but there isn’t any variation which would indicate a key being used for static or interactive maps. I’ve still not managed to get a static map to appear. Any other ideas I can try in order to resolve this?

    Hi Nebben,

In that case, something else is likely interfering with the SiteORigin Google Maps widget. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

If that doesn’t help, do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?

    Hi Alex,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I’ve clear the cache and disabled all plugins other than Site Origin plugins but this has not fixed the issue.

On the home page of thamesboatsurveys.co.uk <http://thamesboatsurveys.co.uk/> you will see a google map at the bottom of the page, which is set to interactive. Immediately below it, is an empty rectangle where an exact duplicate of the above map is set to static.

Not sure what to try now.

Please ignore this. I think I’ve fixed it. It was an issue with the Google API settings.
