Google Maps Api doesn’t work anymore after upgrade

Hello,

After the last upgrade of the widget bundle, my maps on my website went blank. All maps are made properly, with an API key, and used to work perfectly before I updated the pluggin. Could you please help me solve this problem?

I’ve read this thread (https://siteorigin.com/thread/google-maps-do-not-work-after-upgrade/), and this user seemed to have had the same problem. However, my only pluggings active are from SiteOrigin and a single Photo Gallery from another developper, which seems to have no conflict with the maps widget.

Can you please help me?

thank you,

Larissa.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Larissa,

Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on? If you need to keep this URL private from other users, just select “Private Reply” on the bottom right of the comment box.

    Hi Alex,
The maps work again, but thank you for the reply! The only problem now is that the markers take some time to appear inside the map. Is it normal, or is it still possible to make it quicker? I had this problem since I started to use the plugin.

    Thank you!

    Larissa.

    Hi Larissa

The map markers should be instant. Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on? To clarify, there’s no dedicated setting to adjust this at this time but by having a look I’ll be able to tell you if it’s intended or not.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Larissa,

Are you referring to the Google Map on the contact page? If so, I can’t actually see that map due to the site it’s on not being authorized.

    Hi Alex,

Sorry, i should have been more specific. There are two pages with maps on my site.

http://www.francaeassociados.com.br/contato/ (this one has one map with a single marker)

http://www.francaeassociados.com.br/projetos/ (this one has several markers)

My Google Maps API had a key restriction, I’ve changed it, maybe you can see the maps now. If not, I am not sure what could be the error.

    thanks again!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Larissa,

I can see them now, thank you.

This is unavoidable with a dynamic map. You could avoid this with a static map but you would lose the info box.

Basically, the issue is that the map needs time to be created and displayed and then it needs time to draw the map markers. This, depending on the overall connection speed and page contents can be longer than we would like but it’s not something that can easily be reduced. Sorry mate. :(
