Google Map Widget Info Window not displaying

Hi SiteOrigin,

I’m using the SiteOrigin Google Maps plugin to add a map to a new page, and while the map and marker display correctly, the Info Window does not display. I tried the info window setup with Click, Mouse Over, and Always, but the info window does not show up. I also tried it with only SiteOrigin plugins enabled (all other disabled) and it still didn’t work.

Is the Info Window a premium option or have I missed a field on the setup form (see attached screen capture)

The Info Window information is getting passed as part of the data-options, but the HTML is not being created by whatever JavaScript function is supposed to create it.

The site is using:

PHP Version 7.0.14
SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle Version 1.11.8
SiteOrigin CSS Version 1.1.5
SiteOrigin Vantage Version: 1.7.5

Thanks for your help,
Rich

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Rich,

The info window is not a premium option. All premium features are marked appropriately, or completely hidden to prevent confusion.

Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at your setup? Also, would it be possible for you to send me an export for this widget? To do this please open up the linked page in the editor and click the Layout button in the Page Builder toolbar. Then click import/export and then click download. Please upload the export to a 3rd party file hosting site such as teknik.io.

    Hi Alex,

Thanks for the response. I didn’t think the Info Window was a premium option as you guys are pretty good at highlighting what comes with the premium package (if my client agrees, I do want the image light-box function and the ability to use widgets with the tab widget), but I wanted to be sure.

I’ve uploaded the layout JSON file to Tecnik. The file’s at: https://u.teknik.io/bcMxo.json

You can see the page with the map at: http://www.smcbeauty.co.kr/en/contact-us/

    Thanks again for your assistance.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Rich,

Thanks. Okay, so the issue is that the marker you’re seeing when you view your map is the center marker (this can be disabled open the map, open markers settings and untick Show marker at map center) rather than the marker with the info window actually set. The reason why that marker isn’t showing is that the address isn’t returning any results on the Google Maps API database so that marker isn’t actually being set. Does that make sense?

I would recommend setting the marker place field to the latLng you’re using for the map center and unticking the map center marker setting. This will allow for the marker with the InfoWindow to display.

    Hi Alex,

Thanks for your help. I see what I was doing wrong. I had the name of the place in the Place field. Once I put the latitude and longitude there and moved the place name into the Info Window content field, everything worked find.
